My name is Saffiya, and I am the founder of Tetra London. My goal is to create authentic natural skincare and haircare solutions that prioritise both effectiveness and simplicity. At Tetra London, we are committed to using only the purest, cruelty-free ingredients. I believe that beauty should be sustainable and my mission is to offer my clients easy-to-use, yet powerful products that nourish and enhance their skin and hair without compromising on quality or ethics.
My Story
Growing up, I closely observed the women in my family, particularly my mum and her sisters maintain their flawless skin with simple, natural remedies passed down through generations. The secret to their beautiful complexions was rooted in nature, relying on ingredients like Qasil (dried and crushed leaves from the gob tree also known as ziziphus jujube in east Africa), aloe vera plant, black seed oil, turmeric powder, oats and honey. These natural solutions were inherited from our ancestors, they were both gentle and powerful.
I’ve always been surrounded by beauty products, from working at a beauty clinic in Crouch End to collaborating with top brands at Fenwick’s during my teenage years. As I got older, I struggled with my own skin, which would often break out from using chemical-laden products from big brands because of misinformation around skincare trends, this resulted to leaving my skin irritated and imbalanced.
I naturally have thick, curly hair, but over the years, it’s been damaged by frequent blow-drying and daily use of gel to maintain a sleek look. To restore its health, I tried several products that promised to smooth and hydrate, only to find that they left my hair even drier and more damaged. Many of these products from big brands, were packed with chemicals and synthetic fragrances that only worsened the condition of my hair.
Having sensitive skin with mild eczema and my hair being constantly dry, I was always cautious about what I put on my face and hair. I would constantly research ingredient lists and question what I was really applying on my skin and scalp. This experience inspired me to create Tetra London, a brand dedicated to harnessing the purity of nature to offer safe, effective skincare and haircare for those who seek a gentler, more mindful approach to beauty.
This brand is not just a trend, it’s an opportunity to integrate a healthy, long-term solution into your skincare and haircare routine. It’s about helping your skin and hair thrive and protect itself from daily environmental stressors and pollution.
